Schools in Bahrain
Bahrain has a heritage of learning and education. We were the first state in the Gulf to provide education for both males and females back in the 1920s.
You have a choice of over 30 schools for your children, including St Christopher’s School, the British School of Bahrain and the Bahrain Bayan School which are based on the British curriculum; the Bahrain School which is American-based; the Ecole Francaise; the New Indian School; and the Japanese School of Bahrain, a Nihonjin Gakko school which offers the same curriculum as public schools in Japan.
The UK’s Guardian newspaper recently named St Christopher’s School in Bahrain as one of the eight best international schools in the world, the only school in the Middle East to be included in the list.
Ten universities also provide internationally-recognised qualifications.
