Bahrain Bay

Bahrain Bay is a landmark development for the Kingdom of Bahrain. The project is envisioned as a modern metropolis that becomes the driving force for the redevelopment of the Manama city waterfront. Careful attention has been given to establishing a planning, design, approval and management regime that ensures diversity of scale and product, vibrant surroundings and authentic experiences.

A hierarchy of densities will provide the basis for a defined series of neighbourhoods. Design guidelines promote quality architecture and ensures that all assets and investments are considered equally, and a sustainable site-wide management regime will be established where all members of the community contribute and benefit.

The master plan is centered around a unique concept: an island connected by two bridges that form an inner harbour. Two organizing principles define Bahrain Bay: radiating circles that carve the central island, promenade and road system, and two intersecting axes which define vistas, the canal and five key monuments.
