Biggest Gathering to Showcase Video Games, Movies and Comics

Fans of video games, movies, and comic books in Bahrain will be amongst the first in the world to witness the latest releases in the gaming and comic industry when curtains are raised later this month to the IGN Convention, the biggest gathering of its kind in the Kingdom and the region.
The Economic Development Board (EDB) announced on Wednesday its support to the event that was initiated by a group of Bahraini youth and caught the attention of the Global IGN Entertainment company; a leading online media and services company that specializes in gaming and entertainment.

Besides the EDB, the IGN Convention which will take place on the 18th and 19th of October, is also sponsored by Tamkeen, the Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

On this occasion, Minister of Transportation and Acting Chief Executive of the EDB, HE Kamal bin Ahmed said “We are glad to see that Bahrain’s youth have increased their global outreach, and caught the attention of such international well-reputed companies to support their success stories. We at the EDB take pride in supporting this prominent event which is being held here in the Kingdom, as it will attract visitors from the region.”

Participants in the event will have the opportunity to meet in person some international celebrities, such as WWE champions Kevin Nash and Kenge Ena Von, as well as having the opportunity to experience the latest technologies in the field of games and movies, and most notably, Sony’s latest console, the Playstation 4.
It is worth mentioning that this event is co-organized by Tarteeb Event Production and Services and Imagine Games Network, which is better known as “IGN” internationally.

The IGN Convention will also  bring an exciting combination of learning and fun, where it will provide activities and workshops in learning how to draw manga figures (Manga) and animation, game development, and film-making. The event will feature various artists, developers and players from around the world who will produce and showcase their work to the attendees directly.
