New luxury hotels boost Bahrain tourism

Three spectacular hotel openings underline Bahrain’s position as a leading destination, both for business and pleasure.
The new hotels bring enhanced standards of quality and service, helping to meet demand from the region’s buoyant tourism market.
US-based Starwood Hotels and Resorts recently opened the Westin Bahrain City Centre and Le Méridien Bahrain City, taking over from the Kempinski hotel chain. Both hotels are perfectly situated in the heart of Manama close to popular tourist and commercial areas such as the Manama Souq, the Diplomatic Area and King Faisal Corniche, and are directly linked to Bahrain City Centre, the Kingdom’s premier shopping and entertainment location.
The Westin Bahrain City Centre will have 200 guest rooms, including six executive suites and a presidential suite. It will also feature five dining venues, 600 m2 of event space, a spa, gym and swimming pool.
The 260 rooms in the Le Méridien Bahrain City will include 18 executive suites and a presidential suite. There will be three dining venues, a spa, gym and 465 m2 of event and meeting space including a dedicated business centre, ballroom and five meeting rooms.
The 273-room Four Seasons Hotel is due to open in late 2014 at Bahrain Bay, the $2.5 billion integrated community development being built on a man-made island in the Arabian Gulf and connected to Manama by two road bridges. The 68-storey hotel will occupy the central island, giving guests stunning 360-degree views of the whole bay and the capital’s skyline, especially from its penthouse-level ‘Skypod’ restaurant. The striking design will create an enduring landmark, while the hotel is raising the bar in comfort, luxury and style with highly personalised 24-hour service.
