On 22nd February, the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) co-hosted the Arabian Hotel Investment Conference (AHIC) at ART Rotana, Amwaj Islands. The special half-day seminar and networking lunch demonstrated how hotel developers, operators and investors could take advantage of Bahrain’s thriving tourism and hospitality markets.

The event was organised in conjunction with publishers MEED and Bench Events, who run the UAE edition of AHIC, which is due to take place in Dubai 26th-28th April.

Delegates heard presentations on hotel trends from industry experts STR Global, who provide market share data for hotel chains and independents, and Collier International, a leading supplier of commercial real estate services in 67 countries.

In addition, delegates were able to put questions to panellists from prominent travel-related organisations, including the Bahrain Tourism & Exhibition Authority and Bahrain Airport Company, in discussions that covered building the Kingdom’s brand appeal and developing its tourism sector.
