The world comes to Bahrain for Islamic finance

Two important conferences are taking place this week that underline the Kingdom’s pre-eminence in Islamic finance. Manama is delighted to welcome delegates from around the world who are due to attend:
The 22nd Annual World Islamic Banking Conference (1-3 December): Organised by Middle East Global Advisors (MEGA) and supported by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), WIBC 2015 looks back over the 40-year growth of the near-US $2 trillion Islamic finance industry and explores future opportunities. A key focus will be the role of technology in delivering Islamic finance to the 72% of Muslims who currently have no access to financial services.
The AAOIFI (Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions)-World Bank Annual Conference on Islamic Banking and Finance (6-7 December): Organised in partnership with the World Bank and held under the auspices of the CBB, this event also addresses financial inclusion and will discuss progress on standardisation and harmonisation of international Islamic financial practices.
