The Bahrain International Circuit, “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, is open for business every day of the year and boasts, among other facilities, a brand new Karting Circuit that is one of the leading tracks of its kind in the world. As well as the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, the circuit is no stranger to high-level international events and has also hosted the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East series, the CIK-FIA U18 World Karting Championships and an FIA World Endurance Championship event (a series that includes the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours race).
The Grand Prix race weekend is an event that thousands of local, regional and international fans look forward to with its emphasis on entertainment, on and off the track.
Many consider the 2015 Grand Prix to have been one of the best of the 11 Formula One races to have been staged at the iconic Bahrain International Circuit since 2004. Watched by an enthusiastic audience of spectators and corporate guests, the 4th round of the 2015 FIA Formula One World Championship was won by the British Lewis Hamilton driving his Mercedes with second and third places taken, in a thrilling race, by former World Champion and Formula One returnee Kimi Raikkonen driving for the Ferrari F1 team and Nico Rosberg driving for the Mercedes F1 team respectively.
