What’s Bahrain like?

Bahrain combines a modern outlook and the striking skyline of Manama with a rich history.

Leisure

The lifestyle is cosmopolitan. You can enjoy concerts, plays, the latest movies, art galleries and museums. Manama is also known for its great restaurants and café culture, not to mention some of the best shopping in the world.

At the same time, the souq dates back hundreds of years, and there are fascinating archaeological sites to explore, such as Qalat al Bahrain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Attitude

Bahrain has an open and relaxed attitude, with a reputation as the most liberal country in the Gulf. Several international communities live here, all enjoying freedom of worship.

Lifestyle

Education and healthcare are excellent, and the overall quality of life is very attractive. Expatriates live in beautiful villas and apartments, at reasonable rents.

Most communities have their own clubs with sporting and leisure facilities. Team sports are popular including:

  • rugby
  • football
  • cricket
  • watersports

We also host many international sporting events, like the Formula One Grand Prix, which bring the world to Bahrain.

New developments are making the lifestyle even more exciting, such as Al Areen, which includes the largest spa in the Middle East, and a spectacular water park.

Weather

Bahrain enjoys a good climate all the year round, with the warmest months being June to September; October to November and March to May are temperate; December to February are comfortably cool, with winds and brief rain showers. Bahrain also has an average rainfall of only 9 days per year.
