Schools
Bahrain was the first state in the Gulf to provide education for both males and females in the 1920s.
Today there is a choice of over 30 schools, including St Christopher’s School, the British School of Bahrain and the Bahrain Bayan School based on the British curriculum; the American-based Bahrain School; the Ecole Francaise; the New Indian School; and the Japanese School of Bahrain.
The UK’s Guardian newspaper recently named St Christopher’s School as one of the eight best international schools in the world, the only school in the Middle East to make the list. 10 universities provide internationally-recognised qualifications.
