Hone your skills in creating traditional crafts with the 'Traditional Chests Making Workshop', proudly organised by Al Jasra Crafts Centre. Our experts will teach you the secrets of crafting wooden chests, which have been widely used across much of the Arabian Gulf for hundreds of years. Historically, these exquisite chests were often presented as cherished offerings from husbands to their wives on their wedding day, laden with gifts, clothing, perfumes, and gold, before being transported to the marital home.

These magnificent chests are typically fashioned from teak or sheesham wood, displaying rich colours that range from brown to a deep, blackish-brown. They are meticulously decorated with engraved yellow metal sheets, intricately inlaid to highlight the wood's natural lustre, and finally coated with sesame oil for a beautiful finish.
